The Arrival of the Lambs
Every place has its cycles of life. One of the ones we experience each year is the arrival of the lambs on the fields surrounding our studio. It's usually mid-March when they start popping from the ground like fluffy white mushrooms. In practically no time, they grow from wobbly-legged, pathetic looking creatures, to sturdy little bundles of pure energy. They buck and bounce around the field in small gangs until one of the ewes eventually tires of the shenanigans and puts an end to it with a few stern bleats.
And then, with nearly the same suddenness as their arrival, those inquisitive bundles of wool go and mutate into sullen young sheep like this menacing looking trio photographed by Ellen Schweizer, a German designer who typically works remotely on projects with us from her desk in a very lamb-less Berlin.
